Door Layout
N scale
door size 36x80 as I happen to have one. When I started the build, I had not decided on a plan.
I like the height of my old HO layout at 50" so this one will be about
the same.
I started with a door and added 1x6 sides. Then salvage some legs from
some old modular frames I had stored.
Added 1" foam top
Here is the track plan, I came up with. It based on an MR HO layout from June 1988 The Northeastern Alberta Ry.
More progress shots.
Here the divider, just need to cut the past thru holes
More progress photos....
Been thinking about turnout control.
I am using Peco Code 55 track and turnouts with electric frogs and DCC.
So I dug thru my boxes of parts and came across these salvage from an
old switching layout.
A little carving of the ceiling tile for a pocket to mount these
I am planning on gluing a thin cover over wire link and switch pocket.
Got all of the slide switches install for turnout control.
And got some track install
All track laid, backdrop in , track feeder in...on to under the table wiring. I got a
spool of 16ga zip cord this should be big enough for my main buss wire.
I got the Electrical done, couple of photo's (sorry for the out of focus shot's)
Here is how I am connecting by DCC system to layout a 1/4" audio jack
Here a couple of photo's of my portable DCC system and wireless throttle
After the above shots the layout was stored due to my son moving back home. I have found a home for this project and any future projects. Here photo of my new hobby room with the door layout setup, there is more to do to the room but for now is usable, until I get more funds to finish the room.
This layout was storage under by new T&P N scale layout, I could no long afford the space this layout was taking up so it has been dis-assembled.
Thanks for looking.
